Philip Reisman was Social Realist painter, printmaker, and muralist known for his compelling depictions of working-class life in New York City and the fishing communities of New England. Trained at the Art Students League in New York, he developed a career focused on portraying everyday people with empathy and realism, including laborers, immigrants, and waterfront workers. A participant in WPA art projects during the 1930s, Reisman remained dedicated to social realism throughout his career and is remembered for his powerful visual record of twentieth-century American urban and coastal life.

Good estate condition, a few minor stains to the sheet, not examined outside the frame.
