Educated at the Barcelona School of Fine Arts and later in Rome, he initially trained as a sculptor before turning his focus to painting and decorative arts. His work reflected a remarkable versatility, encompassing genre scenes, figure paintings, murals, tapestry designs, and large-scale decorative commissions.
After settling in London in 1877, Codina established an international reputation through commissions for churches, theaters, hotels, palaces, and tapestry workshops in both Britain and Spain. He regularly exhibited at the Royal Academy and became known for his technical skill, refined craftsmanship, and ability to bridge fine art and decorative design.
