England, circa 1730-60, unmarked, all stems with their integral sockets cast in halves, brazed, and peened to the base, the taller pair with square bobeche and conforming welled square base (9 x 4 1/2 x 4 1/2 in.), the shorter pair in Queen Anne form, with welled petal bobeche and spreading petal base (8 1/4 x 4 3/8 x 4 3/8 in.). Retaining purchase receipts from 1971-1972.
