Alfred Augustus Glendening Jr. was a British painter celebrated for his picturesque landscapes, genre scenes, and figurative works depicting rural life and everyday elegance. Born in Greenwich, London, he was trained by his father, the noted landscape artist Alfred Augustus Glendening Sr., and went on to exhibit regularly at the Royal Academy and the Royal Society of British Artists. His paintings often featured idyllic countryside settings, flower markets, and finely dressed figures, reflecting the Victorian taste for charm, beauty, and narrative detail.

Light even toning to the sheet, a few barely visible spots, some insect material trapped below the glass, not examined outside the frame.
