Heather St. Clair Davis was a British-born equine artist and accomplished horsewoman known for combining artistic training with firsthand experience of her subject. Raised in the Cotswolds and educated in art at Cheltenham, she later settled in Vermont, where she established a reputation for painting horses and landscapes with accuracy and sensitivity.
Alongside her artistic career, Davis was active in the equestrian world as an international dressage judge and horse breeder. She eventually returned to England, drawing inspiration from traditional sporting subjects such as hunting scenes, racehorses, and the Gloucestershire countryside. Her work was widely exhibited and remains recognized within the tradition of modern equine art.
Very good estate condition.
