Qing dynasty (1644-1912), 19th century, watercolor and gouache pigments on silk, very fine details depicting a wedding celebration, set in richly appointed interiors elaborately decorated with lanterns, banners, and red double happiness emblems, the halls are populated by attendants and elegantly dressed figures gathered around ceremonial furnishings and banquet tables, framed in identical manner under glass with red mat and mirror surround in ivory painted faux bamboo frames.
Frame dimensions 18 3/4 x 22 1/4 x 1 in., Sight size 14 1/2 x 11 1/4 in.
Toning to silk; some scattered loss to pigments; some scattered areas of wear with small ares of loss along bottom to silk; some light stains mainly along bottom edge; bright pigments; not examined outside of the frames.
