West Bengal, India, circa 1900, glazed and fired clay sourced from the Raniganj region, each with impressed oval stamp "BURN & Co./ RANEEGUNGE," each stylistic representations of facing male lions with marbled ochre and green glaze decoration.

The Pottery Works at Raniganj (with alternative spellings Raneegunge and Raneegungee) was established in 1868, and manufactured various pottery wares and ceramic insulators. Burn & Co., Ltd. remained active at least until the mid-20th century.

Raniganj was a town in the Asansol subdivision of Burdwan District of the Bengal Districts during the British period. The railway line to Raniganj was opened early in 1855.

Scattered surface staining, chipping, and cracks, some cracks with areas of fill restoration; areas of loss to one lion's teeth, the same lion with loss to two front claws.
