20th century, arched face with ornate gilt brass scrollwork and 12-inch round dial with gilt Arabic chapters, numbered lunette with two scenic painted moon phase behind hemisphere terrestrial maps flanking the Herschede crown emblem, operated by a brass 8-days weight driven three train movement signed "GERMANY" to the backplate and chiming on five tubes; Chippendale style mahogany case, hood with swan neck pediment supported on fully turned front fluted columns, cove molded trunk with fluted corner columns with beveled glass panel door and sides, on a paw footed base with raised panels, the posterior case stamped "9/70/401." Includes pendulum, case key, and five spun top tubes all marked "[crown emblem] / THE HERSCHEDE HALL CLOCK CO. / CINCINNATI. O / CROWN SYMPHONY TUBES / PATENTED JAN. 13. 03"
