Henry Barnes, a native of Georgia, attended Young Harris College and Huntingdon College on basketball scholarships before serving in the U.S. Navy. After exploring several career paths, including music, he devoted himself to painting, studying extensively with Constantin and Roman Chatov in Atlanta, where he refined his use of color and light. Additional studies included workshops with renowned artists Daniel Greene and Yves Brayer in Paris.

Very good estate condition; no evidence of restoration or retouch visible under UV light.
