A Large Japanese Bronze Tiger Okimono

Meiji period (1868-1912), a powerful cast bronze sculpture of a furious tiger lunging forward on its large paws with its mouth wide open in a roar, featuring inset glass eyes, the body has a double patina finish enriching the bronze, bringing out the intricate details of the tiger’s muscular form and bringing a dynamic sense of movement and energy to the sculpture, signed with two Japanese characters to the underside of its belly.

Overall very good condition; repair to tail.
