Circa 1800, mahogany veneer, oak and pine secondary, two part form, projecting molded cornice with Greek key and fretwork frieze, upper case with three over three graduated cock beaded drawers, canted fluted corners terminating in lamb's tongue, the lower case with applied molded trim, upper deep drawer with fall front panel revealing a developed compartment with central prospect door flanked by two inlaid document drawers, six small drawers and eight valanced pigeon holes, over two graduated drawers all with cock beading, the drawer fronts feature a high grade figured mahogany veneer, straight bracket foot base.

Maxwell, Jr. Left cornice molding is loose; some replaced Greek key trim; hairline shrinkage cracks to sides of upper case; fall front panel with slight warp; desk interior writing surface with scratches; some small areas of cock beading loss; small veneer patches to drawer stiles; feet are old and appear original.
