Asheville, North Carolina, circa 2013, salt glazed stoneware, stamped "V EAST/FORK 013" beneath the rim, jardiniere form with semi-flat rim, the body decorated in white slip fern-form foliate motifs.

John Vigeland was raised in Fort Worth, Texas, and graduated from Carleton College in southern Minnesota where he studied French, English Literature, and Geology before committing to a major in Studio Art.
Interests in pottery lead to John learning about Mark Hewitt in Pittsboro, North Carolina and his model for apprenticeships. Daniel Johnston, a former apprentice of Hewitt’s, was working on his Big Jar project. John spent three years as Johnston’s apprentice before joining Alex Matisse as a Co-Founder of East Fork Pottery in 2013.
