Between 1911 and 1915, Mokwa traveled extensively through the Middle East, North Africa, and Asia, producing numerous paintings, watercolors, and sketches inspired by his journeys. After settling in Sopot in 1918, he became widely recognized for his depictions of the sea and Kashubian culture, exhibiting throughout Europe and later in England, where he participated in exhibitions at the Royal Society and the British Society of Marine Artists.
