John Stuart Dowie was a sculptor and painter based in Adelaide in South Australia. He created many public sculptures for sites throughout Australia, as well as numerous portrait busts including a bronze bust of Queen Elizabeth II. In 1981 he was named a Member of the Order of Australia.
