First quarter 19th century, pressed horn with brass rivets, folding form concealing two steel blades, the case carved on two sides within an oval reserve, one side depicting facing lion and lamb figures beneath "THE UNITED STATES" banner, the opposite side carved with standing soldier holding a "LIBERTY" beneath "WASHINGTON" carved to the upper oval border.
Case 3 in.; blades 1 5/8 in. and 1 1/2 in.
Collector acquired the knife from a Forsyth County, North Carolina estate near Farmington.

Case side with soldier has areas of horn loss to upper and lower terminals; knives fold and retract well with some spotting.
