Circa 1870s, with inlayed brass escutcheons and perimeter line inlays, campaign flush side handles, the right lower side with key entry single drawer fitted in deep crimson velvet retaining a London based cabinet finisher's label dated 1877, the hinged top opens to a divided interior with matching velvet and gilt leather borders, with pull down letter storage and mirror, removable upper tray, the underside with later felt centering a London antique dealers label, includes key.
