Late 19th century, walnut, burl wood veneer, removable carved backsplash with raised panels, front hinged frieze panel revealing document shelves, two hinged deep curved doors with raised panels, the left door with "Letters" slot having a divided interior and central hinged panel door to the letter compartment, the right door with marked panel reading "Manufactured by the Wooton Desk Co., Indianapolis, Ind., Pat. Oct. 6, 1874," the door interior with (40) alphabetized cubby holes, the interior with an upper fall front incised maple panel featuring a green baize writing surface, divided compartments and six small drawers, over four central drawers flanked by divided compartments, all highlighted in figured maple, ornate original steel hinges, raised panel case sides and back, on casters.
