Karl Blossfeldt (German, 1865-1932) was a sculptor and photographer whose work often focused on details of plant forms. His important photography book Urformen der Kunst (Art Forms in Nature) was first published in Berlin in 1928. Including spectacular black and white close-up images of plants, the monograph was highly acclaimed and published in several languages.

Boards with some wear to extremities (heaviest at corners and spine ends) and discoloration along edges; interior with mild toning, foxing (mostly at endpapers and page edges), ownership inscription in pencil, a couple of small areas of cracking to rear hinge, and an occasional light mark or expected sign of handling wear.
