Jane Addams was an activist and progressive reformer. She fought for racial equality, the rights of children, and women's suffrage throughout her career. Addams advocated for a juvenile court system, she was a co-founder of the National Child Labor Committee, and she was one of the founders of Hull House, the first U.S. settlement house. Hull House was established in Chicago to provide support for immigrants and to improve the health and well-being of the larger community by offering educational programs, housing, daycare, and more.

This letter was written the same year that Jane Addams became the first American woman to win the Nobel Peace Prize.

The letter with expected folds from mailing and very light creasing; with mild toning along the edges, a couple of very minor spots/marks, and one corner with some evidence of erased pencil notations; the envelope with light wear from age and use, most noticeably a few scattered spots; not examined outside the frame. Very good.
