A Striking North Carolina Megalodon Tooth with Serrations

Lot Details & Additional Photographs
A 3-in. uniquely colorful tooth, with brown root supporting orange and two-toned gray enamel; resting against a wooden dowel on a custom fossilized whale bone stand. Found off the coast of North Carolina.

On stand approximately 3 x 4 1/2 x 3 1/8 in.

A remarkable example with sharp serrations, impressive color, and luster especially along the sides and the back of the tooth; well-preserved to retain most of the enamel; minimal chipping to edges; root very lightly worn at both sides to keep with the overall near symmetry of the form.
