KPM Painted Porcelain Plaque, Christopher Columbus in Chains

Berlin, circa 1870s, after a painting completed in 1846 by Gustav Wappers (Belgian, 1803-1874), oval hand-painted convex porcelain plaque, the verso with impressed mark "[scepter] / K.P.M. / K" presented in a later gilt frame with cream moire silk matting.

Plaque 8 3/4 x 6 1/2 in.; frame 15 1/4 x 13 x 1 1/4 in.

Good estate condition.
