From the Estate of the late Francine Pilloff, Chapel Hill, North Carolina Susan Finer is a North Carolina fiber and mixed media artist. Originally from New York, her work is inspired by ancient craft traditions, the paintings, sculpture, collage, and textiles of twentieth-century masters, and the textures of both natural and built environments. Combining weaving, fiber, and mixed media techniques, Finer creates richly layered abstract compositions that explore materiality, memory, and the universal language of form. Her work has been exhibited nationally in galleries and museums, including the Museum of Design Atlanta, the Museum of Contemporary Art Jacksonville, Haen Gallery, FRANK Gallery, and the Carter Burden Gallery.
