With a 29 in. slightly curved blade featuring a prominent
hamon or tempering line; the sword's rayskin grip is decorated with brass
menuki on either side; the pierced brass tsuba (guard) is decorated with a linear pattern and is placed directly below the bronze fuchi (collar). The sword has a lacquered wooden scabbard with suspension cord.
29 in. blade; 42.25 in. overall
Private Collection, Chapel Hill, North Carolina Mellow toning to the old brass; the fabric on the grip is intact; lacquer losses to the scabbard; pin has not been removed from tang.
