Circa 1860, two part form, walnut veneer, oak secondary, the mirrored backsplash with upper high relief carved boar's head flanked by acorn branches and fan carvings, two shaped shelves, grape and fruit cluster ornaments, the case with convex sides, two central drawers over two hinged paneled doors with high relief applied carved game birds, shelved interior, flanked by two upper pull out serving slides over two hinged cabinet doors with fruit and ribbon carvings, shelved interior, paneled stiles, ebonized highlights, suppressed ball feet, on casters, appears unmarked.

Alexander Roux, a French-born cabinetmaker active in New York from 1836 to 1881, was an ever tasteful proponent of the latest fashion, working in the 1840s in the Gothic Revival style, in the 1850s in the Elizabethan, Renaissance, and Rococo styles, and in the 1860s.

Some silver loss to the mirrors; lacking one finial; one finial with break and repair; top of lower cabinet with staining and wear from use; serving slides are stiff but retain old, likely original, surfaces; some minor edge chips and denting from use.
