Each an oil on canvas (lined), not signed, one retaining vintage label inscribed "A. C. Lanier / 1861..." likely describing the sitter, presented in uniform giltwood framing.

Stretcher sizes 30 x 25 in.; Frame dimensions 37 1/2 x 32 1/2 in.

The paintings have been lined, with a few areas of repair and retouching; the female portrait with small area of flaking; the frames are period but have been restored.
