Steel, wood, and brass, for a Gras infantry rifle, featuring a 20 1/2-inch blade, spine engraved with the manufacturing arsenal details and date period, Manufacture d'armes de Châtellerault Mars 1882, ricasso and the crossguard stamped with various French hallmarks and serial numbers, over a wood and brass handle; together with a conforming steel scabbard/fourreau.
