Collection of Sydney and Frances Lewis, Richmond, Virginia Julie York is an artist and educator who explores materiality and perception through sensory and immersive experiences in art and design. She has exhibited across North America, with work in The Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, The Racine Art Museum and The Burchfield Penney. A Pew Fellowship recipient, she has been recognized for her contributions to contemporary ceramics. Through exhibitions, fellowships, and residencies, her work informs contemporary discussions on materiality, craft, and design. he currently lives in Vancouver and is an Associate Professor of Visual Arts and Material Practice at Emily Carr University of Art and Design.
