From the Estate of the late Mr. and Mrs. Stevens and Ruth Nicholson of Fearrington Village, Pittsboro, North Carolina

Bustamante was born in Culiacan, Sinaloa, and studied architecture at the University of Guadalajara. His first art exhibition showcased paintings and papier-mâché figures at the Galeria Misrachi in Mexico City in 1966, and by the mid-1970s, his practice expanded to include wood and bronze sculpture. Reminiscent of Surrealists like Remedios Varo (Spanish, 1908-1963), Bustamante's work draws from the country's rich history of Surrealist and spiritual art.

Good condition.
