A Group of Twelve Foliate Majolica Pieces

Late 19th century, (12) pieces, including: a covered handled sugar bowl with lavender interior (4.5 x 6.1 in), featuring Etruscan Majolica mark, with oval tray (1.75 x 10.75 x 8.9 in.); a shell form shallow bowl (2.1 x 8.5 x 9.75 in.); (2) autumn leaf shallow bowls (2 x 10 x 9.5 in.); a geranium leaf plate (1.25 x 11.1 x 7.8 in.); and (6) small leaf dishes (average size 1.25 x 8.5 x 7 in.) three Etrusan Majolica works featuring mark of Griffen, Smith & Hill.

Shell bowl: crazing, two places of fill and touch up, glazing color loss on underside, some small chips to base, unmarked; sugar bowl: chip to lid and one handle; sugar bowl tray: small chip to rim; autumn leaf bowls: many small chips to leaf (rim) tips, areas of glaze loss, crazing; small leaf dishes: some chips scattered primarily to rims, crazing; geranium leaf plate: hairline crack; some discoloration in lines of the white glazing crazes.
