Continental School (Late 19th Century), A Fine Cast Iron Portrait of Sir Walter Scott

Late 19th century, dark patinated iron, well cast as a full length portrait of Scotland's venerated poet, writer, and historian, standing with cane and leaning on a pruned stump, raised upon a monument plinth with verse from his poem Harp of the North, Farewell, "Much have I owed thy strains on life’s / long way,/ Through secret woes the world has never known," the upper terrace with worn inscription, indicating "Kunstler" and "Berlin."

Good estate condition; some areas of rubbing to the patina; light rust spotting to the underside.
