Circa 1820s, unmarked, both of footed sarcophagus form with brass inlaid escutcheon, hinged lid with bevel panels, and brass lion ring handles, the larger with domed central lid panel, open peacock blue upholstered velvet interior, raised on brass ball feet (6 x 10 x 5 in.); the second with lightwood corner and line inlays, the dual lidded compartment, with red papered ceiling, retaining much of the original tin lining, on bun feet (5 1/2 x 9 x 5 in.).
Veneer scratches to both; larger with some staining to the upholstery; smaller with some inlay losses and sun-fading wear to the veneers.
