Continental School (19th century), Two Genre Scenes with Children

Oil on canvas, unsigned, the first depicting children as artist and model in an opulent interior, the second depicting a young child on his grandfather's knee drinking from a tankard, presented in period gilt composition frames.

Stretcher size 10 1/8 x 8 1/2 in.; Frame dimensions 13 1/2 x 12 in.

Both with shrinkage cracks, rubbing and some minor loss to frames; each canvas with craquelure, stretcher marks, and some buckling to canvas; the painting with the tavern scene has two areas of paint loss and small holes to canvas.
