Circa 1860s, wood and steel, featuring a double-blade with median ridge, with cross guard and ferrule below, ferrule mounted to the ash pole the base of the pole now lacking the iron ferrule, utilized as a guidon pole and lance that could be used to cut the bridles of opposing cavalry.
