Félix Planquette was a French painter known for his luminous landscapes and vibrant Impressionist palette. He trained at the École des Beaux-Arts de Lille before continuing at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris, where he entered the studio of Fernand Cormon. Planquette exhibited successfully at the Salon des Artistes Français and was awarded the prestigious Prix Rosa Bonheur in 1912.

Two punctures to sky in upper right quadrant; surface grime; some retouch along top edges of canvas due to rubbing from frame; small pinpoint bulge over lower stretcher bar with associated paint flake; minor rubbing to frame.
