Pair of Baroque Carved and Polychromed Ecclesiastical Putti

18th century, carved wood with gesso, polychrome, and gilt, each modeled in the form of a figured gesturing cherub holding a shield form cartouche with Latin Marian inscription: the sinister facing putto "Mater / admiralis / orapronobis" (Mother Most Admirable, pray for us), and the dexter facing putto "Consolatrix Afflictorum, orapronobis" (Comforter of the Afflicted, pray for us), mounted with later hardware for wall display.
