Henry Redmore was a member of the Hull School and maintained his studio on Regent Street. Many of his works depict shipping in the Humber estuary, off the Yorkshire coast, and in the harbors of Whitby and Scarborough. He also visited the South West Coat of England, painting scenes of Torbay and several other ports on the Devon and Cornish coastlines. Redmore exhibited two paintings at the Royal Academy in 1868 and at Ferens Art Gallery in Hull.
Very small blemish to sky in upper left corner; yellowing varnish; minor vertical undulations to canvas at lower right of center canvas; no evidence of restoration or retouch visible under UV light; minor age cracking to frame.
