Daniel Seagle (Lincoln County, NC, 1805-1867), A Fine Three Gallon Stoneware Jug

Alkaline glazed stoneware, stamped "DS" within a rectangular reserve and "3" capacity mark, highly ovoid form, loop handle to the shoulder with raised medial ridge, ring tooled neck and slightly squared mouth, the whole fired in an attractive all over runny olive-brown alkaline glassy glaze.

15 1/4 x 10 1/2 x 10 1/2 in.

Good condition; small glaze skip to the rim; interior with loose cork.
