Margaret Austin is a New Zealand dancer, showgirl, writer, and performer who spent fourteen years living and working throughout Europe. She danced in Amsterdam before moving to Paris, where she performed as a showgirl at the famed Folies Bergère. After returning to New Zealand, Austin chronicled her colorful career through writing, poetry, and autobiographical performances, including her memoir Dancing Naked: An Exhibitionist Revealed.
