Mixed fabrics, early 20th century, hand sewn; the first a crazy quilt with top made of assorted fabrics of mostly cotton and wool sewn together in assorted shapes and embroidered in multicolored decorative stitching, the backing a dark navy cotton with orange circular motifs (75 x 79 in.); the second with large basket motifs alternating with star motifs in bright cotton prints appliqued on a white field with a white backing (71 x 89 in.).
Basket quilt with large area of staining, some fabric tears, fading, and dye run; crazy quilt with many areas of tearing and shattering to fabrics, areas of discoloration.
