Mid-18th century, London or Bristol, a two handled vessel with straight sides and single spout, one side painted with an exotic bird and floral landscape, the other side painted with running unicorns.

The Estate of the late Betsy J. Sykes, Raleigh, NC Posset pots were used for about 100 years in England to mix warmed milk and ale with spices as a remedy for colds.
Restoration to spout; chips and losses throughout especially to the rim and high points of the handles; lacking lid. Restoration area is about 4 in. across the top rim and tapers downwards in a V shape, with re-surfacing.
