The first set consisting of thirteen un-numbered volumes (Edinburgh: Adam and Charles Black, 1862), 16mo (6.75 x 4.5 in.), three-quarter calf over marbled boards (wear to gilt titles; some soiling; overall good condition); the second set being eight of nine apparent volumes (Edinburgh & London: Adam and Charles Black, 1890-1892), small quarto (9 x 6 in.), three-quarter calf over leather (minor chipping and wear; patinated spines).
