The first worked in silk on linen, with alphanumeric rows to top register and with decorative elements, with verse and name of maker stitched to bottom register, "elisabeth Prews / work, presented in contemporary frame (DOA 18 11/16 x 10 7/8 in.) (some staining); the second worked in monochromatic silk thread on linen, with two rows of alphanumeric bands to top register and with pious verse, with maker's name and date stitched to bottom register, "Louisa Taylor Finished June 28th 1839", housed in later frame (DOA 14 x 13.25 in.) (scattered holes; with staining).
