Worked in multi color silk threads, top register to include maker's and her family members' initials and "advice to youth" and below its hymnal verse, composition includes a two-story home between Adam and Eve and trees, with verse dividing lower section above trees and figural motifs, stitched to bottom register in lower caps "sarah shaw aged 11 in the year of our / lord 1848 / young children once to Jesus / come," all within a strawberry border, presented in a period frame.
