Attributed to New York, circa 1870, cherry, walnut and burl wood veneers, white pine and mixed wood secondary, later custom conforming marble top, original top with banded veneer edge and red linen center panel, the case with upper drawer above a single hinged cabinet door, shelved interior, the cabinet with all over incised decoration with gilt highlight, applied carvings including swan and cupid and painted vignettes with mythological creatures, the molding and trims with ebonized highlights, lower side panels with original molding cut-out to receive base moldings in home, on casters.
