Liz Ward is an American artist whose work delves into themes of natural history, memory, and environmental change through mediums such as painting, drawing, printmaking, cyanotype, and collage. Born in Lafayette, Louisiana, and raised in Houston, Texas, she earned a B.F.A. from the University of New Mexico and an M.F.A. from the University of Houston. Ward's art, characterized by layered and delicate compositions, has been exhibited in over 200 group shows and more than 30 solo exhibitions, including venues like the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, and the International Print Center, New York. Her works are part of esteemed collections such as the Whitney Museum of American Art and the Menil Collection. Currently residing in San Antonio, Texas, and Eagle Harbor, Michigan, Ward serves as a Professor and Chair of the Department of Art and Art History at Trinity University, where she integrates her artistic practice with environmental studies.
