Marcel Mouly was born in Paris and pursued a circuitous route to become of the most recognized of modern French painters. His bold and bright paintings are greatly influenced by the fauvist works of Matisse and the cubism of Picasso. Mouly has exhibited internationally, from the 1945 Salon d'Automne in Paris to the Musee de Changhai, China in 1996.
