Introduced in 1983, the Panthère de Cartier was designed as a dressier version of Cartier's Santos watch. Originally available in five sizes and a mixture of metals, the watch was created to be worn as jewelry, not just as a timepiece. The bracelet was designed with this in mind, and the watch received its name based on the fluidity of the bracelet matching the fluid movements of a panther. This model is likely an original release in a medium size.
