Serial number 566654 present on receiver rearward of trapdoor, text of US MODEL 1884 present on top of trapdoor, text of US SPRINGFIELD and eagle present on lock plate with single half cock and full cock hammer, characters V P, eagles head, P and A are present on 29 1/2 in. barrel with elevation adjustable rear sight and fixed front, three sling loops, cleaning rod, character B and 1893 stamp present on toe line of walnut stock, steel buttplate with characters US present on top bend, US marked detachable bayonet.

Overall good estate condition, bore rifling present and displays some pitting and frosting, old brown gun patina over all metal surfaced, forward lock plate screw appears to be stripped, positive half and full cock, stock shows long years of use with a sliver chip along underside of lock plate, adjacent to cleaning rod channel and forward sling loops, numerous moderate wounds elsewhere, no visible cracks found, bayonet in good condition with light surface rust and scattered pitting found.
