No visible serial number (NVS), text on gun 1 of 2 of MIDDTN CONN 1847 H.ASTON present on percussion lock plate with inspector markings of JH, P, GW, US, MS present on 8 1/2 in. barrel and numerals 1851 present on tang, brass fittings, trigger guard, back strap and pommel, pair of script markings of initials present on left side of wood stock.

Both pistols in very good estate condition, pitting on steel components with varying brown and coined patinas present, brass tarnishing present yet expected, light to moderate screw slot damage, stock finish condition is healthy showing no cracking or missing pieces, one gun displays evidence of being overly cleaned, removing some original condition.
